Domaine Besson Chablis Montmains Premier Cru 2022 - Last Bottle

Domaine Besson Chablis Montmains Premier Cru 2022

Who’s ready for CHABLIS?!?! Montmains, PREMIER CRU Chablis at that! And all crafted by long-time Last Bottle favorite Camille Besson! Let’s go!!!

YIPPEEEE!!! We’ve been singing the praises of Camille Besson – a master of Chablis’ top crus and Last Bottle uber favorite – for YEARS, and she’s enshrined in the Last Bottle Hall of Fame without question. Her Chablis flat-out delivers, and her Premier Cru site of Montmains is a personal favorite of mine. The 4th generation winemaker continues to craft the pound-for-pound, dollar-for-dollar, tippy-top BEST Chablis out there…and we’ve scored some for JUST $30!!!

2022 has become known as the SUNSHINE vintage for Chablis, due to the dry, warm conditions that allowed for excellent fruit set, and good yields – that nevertheless maintained Chablis’ prized acidity and intense minerality. The result here is just JAW-DROPPING good…a perfect medley of ripe orchard fruits, exotic tropicality, and that signature oyster-shell and lemony, grassy freshness that is so unmistakably CHABLIS! Premier Cru Chablis from Montmains regularly fetches $60, $70, $100+ sort of prices – but Camille gives us a special price for being her biggest fans ANYWHERE – so we can share the savings and offer this out for a simply UNREAL $30 a pop! That’s just EPIC, y’all.

The name “Montmains” refers to a medium-sized mountain that is lower than two surrounding peaks. Generally characterized by the presence of the precious Kimmeridgian marls under the clays – this means complex, intense aromatics, cooling minerality, stony freshness and salinity…mmmmm! How’s that sound to all you White Burg lovers out there?!?! Get four, get six, get two dozen…just get MOVING! We can never get enough, and pedigreed Chablis like this is sure to FLY!!

...while it lasts!

Four generations of Chablis excellence, led by a rich family passion for land, vine, and spectacular juice.

About The Producer

The Domaine Besson history begins in 1902, when Eugène Besson planted a few vines for his own enjoyment. He shared his passion for viticulture with his son Fèlix, who would go on to buy 7.5 hectares of vines, which he would tend and sell the fruit to large estates. The family’s passion for wine carried on to the third generation Besson boy, Alain, who went on to create the Domaine Besson label in 1972 and build a new cellar, workshop, and winery by 1997. Today, Domaine Besson is led by fourth-generation successors, Adrien and Camille. After the siblings obtained degrees in oenology, they returned home to carry the torch. Adrien tends to the vines, and Camille leads the vinification and marketing– it’s a true family effort.
